Clinical Governance
Medical Review Board & Editorial Standards
Every prescription at Hair Scripts is reviewed by a licensed clinician. No algorithm prescribes. No intake is auto-approved. This page explains our clinical review process, provider credentials, and editorial standards.
Clinical standards
Every prescription is clinician-reviewed
No prescription is generated automatically or by algorithm. Each Hair Scripts intake — including quiz answers, uploaded photos, SULT1A1 test results, and declared medical history — is reviewed by a licensed clinician before any medication is approved.
Contraindications are checked before prescribing
Our intake captures declared contraindications (cardiovascular conditions, pregnancy status, known drug allergies, concurrent medications). Any flagged response is reviewed with heightened caution. Oral minoxidil requires explicit evaluation of blood pressure history.
Medical content is reviewed before publication
All condition guides, treatment pages, and clinical explainers on hair-script.com are reviewed by a licensed clinician before publication. Pages carry a 'last reviewed' date and are updated when clinical evidence changes.
We follow FDA compounding regulations
Hair Scripts partners exclusively with 503A or 503B licensed compounding pharmacies. Formulations use FDA-approved active pharmaceutical ingredients (minoxidil USP, finasteride USP) in custom vehicles. Labeling, sterility testing, and stability documentation are maintained per applicable regulations.
Adverse event monitoring
Patients can report adverse events via their patient portal or by contacting info@hair-script.com. Clinicians review and respond within 24 hours. Serious adverse events are documented and handled per applicable telehealth and pharmacy regulations.
Our providers
Hair Scripts prescribing providers are licensed in the states we serve and specialize in hair restoration and dermatology. Provider credentials are verified prior to onboarding. NPI numbers are on file and available upon request.

Editorial guidelines
Sources: All clinical claims are supported by peer-reviewed literature (PubMed) or authoritative medical references (UpToDate, FDA labeling, AAD guidelines). Sources are linked directly in footnotes as PubMed IDs.
Review cycle: Medical content pages are reviewed at minimum annually, or within 30 days of any significant clinical guideline change affecting hair loss treatment.
Corrections: Factual errors identified by clinicians, patients, or readers are corrected within 48 hours. Significant corrections are noted with a correction timestamp.
Scope of practice: Hair Scripts operates within applicable telehealth law in the states we serve. Our providers do not diagnose or treat conditions outside the scope of hair loss and scalp health. Patients with complex systemic conditions are referred to appropriate specialists.
No AI-generated prescriptions: AI tools are used only for administrative and operational tasks. All clinical decisions — including what to prescribe, at what dose, and whether to deny a prescription — are made by a licensed human clinician.
